An Enchantment of Florals | Bringing the Joy of Nature into the Home

Flowers have always held a special place within Wendy's creative world.

Following the journey explored in previous collections, Geisha Florals and Healing Florals, where flowers became a symbolic language of beauty, impermanence and transformation, Wendy continues her fascination with the emotional and spiritual qualities of florals through her newest collection, An Enchantment of Florals.

Returning to one of her most enduring sources of inspiration, Wendy has created a collection of three handcrafted rugs celebrating the lotus, chrysanthemum and orchid. Designed to bring moments of beauty, symbolism and quiet joy into the home, the collection explores the gentle ways flowers can influence not only how a space looks, but how it feels to live within.

For Wendy, flowers have never been simply decorative. They are part of the natural rhythm of life itself, growing effortlessly across meadows and hedgerows, filling gardens with colour and fragrance, and quietly reminding us to pause. They ask nothing of us, yet they have an extraordinary ability to restore, comfort and reconnect us with the present moment.

A Continuing Conversation with Nature

In Geisha Florals, Wendy explored blooms through the lens of Buddhist philosophy, where flowers became meditations on impermanence, awakening and beauty in transition. Each bloom carried a deeper meaning, reflecting the fleeting nature of beauty and the quiet wisdom found within the cycles of life.

In Healing Florals, this exploration deepened into the sensory and emotional qualities of flowers—their longstanding connection to wellbeing, their presence within traditional medicinal practices and their ability to influence atmosphere, mood and state of mind.

Together, these collections revealed flowers not simply as decorative motifs, but as carriers of meaning, memory and storytelling. An Enchantment of Florals continues this conversation, exploring flowers as symbols of beauty, renewal and the subtle ways nature can enrich the spaces we call home.

The Florals Collection

Together, these collections revealed flowers not simply as decorative motifs, but as carriers of meaning, memory and storytelling. An Enchantment of Florals continues this conversation, exploring flowers as symbols of beauty, renewal and the subtle ways nature can enrich the spaces we call home.

The collection was conceived as three individual floral rugs that can be styled together or apart, allowing each home to create its own unique composition. These pieces are expressive and open to interpretation, designed to evolve naturally alongside the spaces in which they live.

The Quiet Power of Flowers in the Home

For Wendy, the ritual of placing flowers within a room has always been about far more than decoration.

Arranging flowers becomes a small daily ceremony, an intentional pause within the rhythm of everyday life. She especially loves them at a dining table, where people gather to eat, talk and spend time together. Their presence subtly changes the atmosphere, encouraging conversation, stillness and a greater sense of presence.

Like many, I love the ritual of arranging flowers in a vase and finding the perfect place for them within a room. It can feel like creating a small altar, an intentional pause in the rhythm of daily life.

This philosophy echoes principles found in Feng Shui, where flowers are understood as living energy within the home, encouraging balance, harmony and renewal through their quiet presence.

Whether viewed through philosophy or simply experienced intuitively, flowers have an extraordinary ability to transform not only how a room looks, but how it feels.

For centuries they have appeared throughout interiors around the world - painted across walls and ceilings, woven into textiles, embroidered into tapestries and carved into furniture. Across cultures and generations, florals have been used to invite the restorative beauty of nature indoors.

Whether expressed through pigment, thread, carving or fresh arrangements, the intention has remained remarkably consistent: to create homes that feel connected to the natural world.

The Three Flowers of Enchantment

At the heart of this collection lies a trio of flowers, each chosen for its unique symbolism and the quiet emotions it evokes.

The Lotus

The lotus represents awakening.

Within Buddhist philosophy, it rises untouched from muddy waters, symbolising transformation, clarity and spiritual emergence.

In traditional Eastern medicine, lotus seed has long been associated with calming the mind, easing restlessness and supporting emotional balance. The flower itself is linked to serenity and clarity, often used in ritual and aromatic traditions to quiet the senses and encourage inner stillness.

The Chrysanthemum

The chrysanthemum embodies harmony.

Within Buddhist-inspired thought, it reflects impermanence and the wisdom of seasonal change - the beauty found in letting go and gently returning inward.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, chrysanthemum has long been valued as a cooling botanical, traditionally prepared as a tea to soothe overstimulation, restore clarity and bring a sense of gentle focus back to the mind. It carries an unmistakable feeling of lightness and ease.

The Orchid

The orchid speaks of renewal.

Representing refinement, humility and quiet strength, it unfolds with effortless grace. Across Eastern medicinal traditions, certain orchid species have long been associated with restoring vitality and balance, while their elegant presence has the ability to lift the atmosphere of a room and inspire quiet reflection.

A Collection to Live With

Rather than existing as a single statement piece, An Enchantment of Florals has been designed as a collection of three, to grow with the home.

Each individual rug offers its own story, yet together they create a conversation about awakening, harmony and renewal. Whether displayed individually or layered together, they invite personal interpretation and playful styling, bringing moments of beauty, symbolism and the restorative presence of nature into everyday life.

Because sometimes the simplest things- a flower, a quiet corner, a beautifully crafted object have the greatest power to change how a home feels.
