Introducing Geisha Florals | The Collector's Collection

Geisha Florals is inspired by Wendy’s first journey to Nepal, where she was deeply moved by the presence of Buddhist symbolism woven into everyday life. In homes, workshops and temples, she encountered Thangkas - intricate scroll paintings rich with colour, meaning and devotion to craft. Their quiet spirituality left a lasting impression.

Geisha Florals Hand-Knotted Rug

This design translates that sense of symbolism into a new story. At its centre stands a Geisha, chosen for her embodiment of discipline, grace and lifelong dedication to artistry. Her kimono becomes the canvas for healing florals drawn from Buddhist tradition, lotus for purity and rebirth, chrysanthemum for vitality, orchid for refinement and peony for compassion.

Cranes soar gracefully through the sky, while butterflies drift across an ombré backdrop of clouds and gentle waves. Together, these elements evoke a quiet sense of movement, balance and serene harmony.

Geisha Florals is a celebration of harmony where beauty, symbolism and craftsmanship come together to uplift the spirit.

The Sacred Seven

Geisha Florals is released as an exceptionally limited edition of just seven rugs. Each piece will be individually numbered, with the number woven discreetly into the rug.

In Buddhist philosophy, the number seven carries a quiet spiritual significance. It is often associated with reflection, enlightenment and the journey toward balance and harmony.

Each rug is hand-knotted in wool and silk by our master artisans in Nepal, a process that requires months of meticulous craftsmanship and patience. Limiting the design to seven ensures that every rug remains as rare and considered as the inspiration behind it. A work of art created with intention, care and respect for tradition.

Geisha Florals represents everything we believe at Wendy Morrison Design. A rug should never simply fill a floor.

It should tell a story.

With each of the seven pieces we create, our intention is to bring meaning, beauty and joy into the home. Through symbolic details and mindful artistry, our rugs become living artworks that transform spaces

“As someone continually inspired by Eastern artistry and its deep-rooted storytelling traditions, I envisioned these healing florals forming the surface of a Geisha’s kimono, a garment that itself carries grace, ritual and symbolism. The kimono becomes a canvas: a moving painting.”

Geisha Florals is ultimately a celebration of harmony between strength and softness, ritual and movement, earth and spirit. It is about the quiet power of beauty to heal, inspire and sustain us.

Every piece is a work of patience, beauty and intention.
