Inspired by 16th -century Mughal art, which features meaningful colour and delicate detail in joyful stories about the beauty and importance of nature, our wall-hanging is brought to life using the traditional, highly skilled, Crewel Embroidery technique.

Reminiscent of the presentation style of original Mughal Miniature art, which often appeared as book illustrations, our Crewel wall-hanging offers a window into a natural world full of beauty. Exquisite silk is used to create a picture of Mother Nature that unfolds, layer by layer, in gentle colour and delicate detail. An elegant horse takes centre stage against a calming lilac backdrop, while the golds, greens, pinks and whites of birds and flowers form a pretty frame that draws the viewer into another world.

A luxurious finishing touch, our soft, versatile Crewel can be used as a wall-hanging, or tactile, decorative throw for a bed, chaise or sofa.
