Size

One Hundred Birds One Hundred Flowers’ original rug design was inspired by an exquisite pair of Japanese scrolls depicting many birds and animals living together in harmony. This beautiful, uplifting, design also works beautifully as a luxurious, hand-embroidered Crewel.

Hand-crafted by skilled artisans in Kashmir, Crewel embroidery combines high-quality wool with an age-old technique that results in a unique embossed finish. The finished Crewel is as soft as silk, with a pattern full of glorious depth, colour, and detail.
In this design, our much-loved phoenix, symbol of good luck, harmony, peace and prosperity, glides elegantly above a pair of cranes, which represent beauty, harmony, grace, and balance. A variety of exotic birds dart around or perch happily on branches alongside. There are many intricate, inspiring details to this design, layers of harmonious life, and the result is gentle, calming, and joyful.

Full of joy, hope and life, the Crewel is a beautiful accessory that adds colour, texture, warmth, and interest to interiors. Use it as a bedspread, sofa throw, wall hanging or even curtains.

Every handcrafted crewel from Wendy Morrison Design has its own unique charm. We do our upmost to replicate all the colour shades and sizes, but please be aware that there may be some slight variations, which we feel only adds to the exquisite appeal of each piece.
